Sparkles

A patch of flowers that has sparkles.

Sparkles are an effect applied to certain patches of flowers that yields a token containing honey, random treats corresponding to the field it is in, moon charms, or rarely tickets, royal jelly, star jelly, or glitter when harvested. When enough pollen is collected from a sparkling flower, it will yield a token for any player to collect. If it isn't collected within 10 seconds, the token will disappear.

The largest plants in the Sunflower Field, Pineapple Patch, and Pumpkin Patch will occasionally generate a face and blow bubbles 3 to 5 times on their respective fields, creating 13 patches of pollen that sparkle. The Blue HQ's Bubble Wand blows bubbles on the Dandelion Field, Mushroom Field, Blue Flower Field, and Clover Field in a similar fashion. Individual fireflies that spawn during the night also leave behind sparkles on flowers they were on as they are chased off.

Trivia[]

  • In the 7/11/2018 update, the change to the size of the Clover Field was not taken into account, so the Bubble Wand model on the Blue HQ could sometimes produce sparkles in the area where there are no flowers.
  • Prior to the 9/28/2019 update, sparkles covered 4 flowers instead of 13.
  • In the 9/10/2018 update, the chances of sparkles being spat were doubled.
  • The Bubble Wand model on the Blue HQ can leave sparkles right under the largest mushroom in the Mushroom Field, making it difficult to collect the rewards.
  • Sparkles used to be called spit by the community, which came from the various faces looking like they were spitting upon the field. Onett later on named this effect "sparkles" like it is today.
  • Sparkletificated
The verb form for sparkles is ‘sparkletificate’.
  • When disappearing, the eyes on a face close before fading away.
  • Spirit Bear mentions the Sparkles in her dialogue before you receive her 8th quest, remarking how the Sparkles are "gross" in terms of how they were created by the faces.
